DAS Residents Meeting well attended

Last wednesday 22nd July, the Darley Abbey Society held a meeting at the Methodist Hall in the Vllage to discuss a plan of action to fight the proposed development of 49 new homes on open land adjacent to North Avenue. Chaired by the Society's minutes Secretary Graham Bennett, the meeting was attended by over 70 people. As a result of the meeting it was decided to

  • set up a campaign team to co-ordinate efforts
  • Start a fighting fund to cover the cost of employing experts
  • Instruct a traffic expert to report on the effect of increased traffic on the area; and
  • a heritage expert to report on the impact on the World Heritage Site.
