Gas main works in Darley Abbey

AMEC will soon be starting work to replace old gas mains in and around the village. Work will start in April 2012 to mid June 2012 in the Bank View Road area and then the Weirfield Road area until mid September 2012.

The streets that will be affected are:

Duffield Road

Vicarwood Avenue

Mile Ash Lane

Windley Crescent

Darley Park Road

Windley Crescent

Bank Veiw Road

New Road

Abbey Lane

Weirfield Road

Abbey Lane

Church Lane

Old Lane

Dower Close

Old Road

West Row

Darley Street

The Hill

North Avenue

South Avenue

Friars Close

Park Road, Duffield

Poplar Road

The Square

 Traffic Management – this is only a guide at the moment:

Duffield Road junction of Vicarwood Avenue - possibility of 3 way traffic lights (approximately 10 days during Easter)

Mile Ash Lane - 2 way traffic lights (mid April for < 4 weeks)

Abbey Lane and Church Lane – 2 way traffic lights (Summer School Holidays)

Darley Street, Poplar Road and New Road – we may need a short length rolling closure or changing of one way (<4 weeks period). 

A traffic survey has been completed to monitor the traffic volume on the junction of Darley Abbey Drive, Abbey Lane & Church Lane to assess the impact on local schools.

Please find attached a Proposed Sequence of Operations, we can supply a map of the areas along with the approximate dates each street/property will be affected.
